The monthly Band Family Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25 at Suzy Q's!

Band Families, at last week's Booster Meeting Anita announced that tomorrow was the Monthly Band Dinner Fundraiser at Suzy Q's. Well this was obviously a mistake. We're busy tomorrow with the UIL Band competition. Instead, the monthly dinner is Tuesday October 25, all day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Suzy Q's. We will have the black feathered Tiger Band bucket and we will need to put our receipts in it to get credit. While you're there encourage others to put their in as well. Thank you so much. Thank you Festival volunteers for your efforts at the Historic Downtown Mansfield Music & Arts Festival!

Band Families and Fans, congratulations to our Band Students and our incredibly talented Directors for their first place finish at last weekends band competition. Great job Tigers!

I also wanted to take a moment to say thank you so very much for those that gave of their personal time this weekend to work the Historic Downtown Mansfield Music and Arts Festival. Our volunteers included Bonnie Rodriguez, Jo Ellen Fulkerson, Anita and Libby Moore, Houston, Donna & Payton Mitchell, Kim & Brett Garrett, Lisa Pritchett and her husband, Fran Thomas, Chris Williams, and Janet & Colton Hart

The Festival was a tremendous success for our community. The bounce house fundraiser that the HDM allowed us to work was succesful as well. We had 14 volunteers that allowd us to split our time between the Band Competition and the Festival.

It takes the efforts of many to have a succesful band program. And because of this event and so many others we are able to provide those needed items to help our Band Students succeed.

Thank you to Steve Cosio for helping bring this opportunity to our Band. Great job Tigers!



Wednesday October 19- Homecoming Pep-Rally

The traditional MHS Community pep-rally will be held on campus at 6:30 PM. The band call time is 6:00 and we will be wearing the White Show Shirt. we should be done by 7:30PM.




UIL- Tuesday October 18

3:00-4:00 Rehearsal @ MHS

- Wear Shorts, Black Show Shirt, Marching Shoes, Black Socks

4:15 Inspection (Just like for games)

4:30 Load busses and Depart for Stadium

Approx 5:00 Arrive at Stadium

- Unload Truck, Exit bus in FULL UNIFORM,

- Visit restrooms if needed

5:45 Check In and Move to Warm Up “A”

6:05 Warm Up Begins

6:35 Move to Gate (Side 2 Entrance)

6:45pm PERFORMANCE!!!!

- Afterwards change out of uniforms (it will be chilly, so please plan ahead...roughly 60 degrees)

- Kids will be fed pizza/water for dinner

- Enter stands to watch remaining groups (concessions stands avaialble)

9:20 Announcement of Ratings

Approx 9:45 Load Busses and Depart for MHS

Approx 10:30 Arrive back at MHS (Meet in Band Hall just like after games)



After last nights game and a text a few minutes ago all volunteer slots are filled for the Music and Arts Festival today and tomorrow. Great effort guys! You are incredible! If you find yourself looking for something to do tonight after the competition come on out to the fesitval and give our evening crew a potty break. Thanks Houston for volunteerin...g from 4-11.

Booster Meeting

Hello Parents

Hope this email finds you doing well. I'm writing to inform you of the upcoming Booster Meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 7:00pm in the Band Hall. I'm really encouraging everyone to be present as we recognize our 2011-2012 sponsors.

If you are interested in riding the bus to San Antonio for Bands of America on November 5th you can sign up and pay on Tuesday night. The cost of the trip is $35.00 per person. We have 30 seats available on the current bus but will secure an additional bus based on paid people. For more information and ticket prices go to

The Holly Jolly Jog (5K Run) & Christmas Market is shaping up to be a great event. Bonnie Rodriguez is in the process of putting together the Christmas Market. She's looking for Arts and Crafts Venders and want to give first opportunity to Booster parents who sell Premier Jewelry, Tupperware, Scentsy or who have talent in making homemade items. The fee for a booth space is $50.00. Each vendor will be responsible for their own table but chairs and electricity will be provided. If you are interested contact Bonnie at for an application and more information. The deadline is this Saturday, October 8th.
